La Mano – all-condition climbingAs with all mountain sports, climbing is heavily dependent on the weather. But the „winter break“ in sports and alpine climbing, which used to be forced on us by the season and the finances, is now a thing of the past. Low-cost flights to sunny latitudes with good weather in winter, and the steadily growing number of climbing halls, mean there are excellent training opportunities all year round. SALEWA actively supports „all-condition climbing”, and in close cooperation with the growing alpineXtrem team, is now offering all lovers of the vertical for the first time in winter a small but quality range of La Mano sports climbing and bouldering apparel.
Climbing sports are steadily growing in popularity. Current estimates state that over two million people climb regularly. In Germany alone the number of members of the German climbing club (DAV) who actively and regularly climb has almost doubled - to approx. 350,000. To a large part these are sports climbers and alpinists, who prefer to climb outdoors and on the rocks. During the „winter break“ they turn to climbing halls or head off to sunnier realms. And of course there are also those climbers who began in climbing halls and practice their sport purely on artificial verticals - some of whom may never have been on the mountain.
