This young Russian was made a member of the international SALEWA team in summer 2009 - and for good reason. He took second place in the 2009 international bouldering championships and in various events of the IFSC Boulder Worldcup 2008/2009 achieved two first places, a second place and a third place. He is the first Russian to have a sports climbing route grade 9a (UIAA: XI) in his log book. The fact that the 22 year-old only began his career on the vertical in 2003 shows his strength of purpose, and his willingness to sacrifice all to be at the forefront in bouldering and competitive climbing.
